A gruelling battle is looming between Italian powerhouses Juventus and Inter Milan and one of them will be a casualty of a resounding defeat.

It will be a hard cracking final in the Coppa Italia as Juventus face off with Inter Milan tonight at the Stadio Olimpico. The Nerazzurri and Bianconeri will have the eyes of the world fixated on them as they renew their hostilities tonight. This will be the third final ever to be played between Serie A's two most successful sides. Juventus won on both occasions. In the last season's final, Juventus won their record 14th Coppa Italia title thanks to the strike by Federico Chiesa which turned out to be the deciding goal against Atalanta. Chiesa then went ahead to taste continental glory with Italy after winning the Euro 2020 but the Italian is yet to win a world cup with his nation and disappointingly, they have failed to qualify for the Qatar World Cup slated to happen in November and December.

Inter Milan are in a Serie A title race with their city rivals AC Milan and they are lagging behind with two points. They will be aiming to bag the Coppa Italia trophy just in case their nemesis runs away with the league cup. Juventus fought it hard in the league to clinch position four and are now guaranteed to be in next year's UEFA Champions League final. Juve are staring at a season without silverware having exited this campaign's UCL at the round of 16 stage following a dramatic beating suffered in the hands of Villarreal. If they fail to claim the Coppa Italia tonight, then they will have to wait for next season to dream of putting any trophies in their cabinets. Luckily to them, the defending champions are specialists in the Coppa Italia having lifted the trophy on four consecutive occasions from 2015 to 2018 and they will be hoping lady Luck still falls on their side tonight.

Though their pursuit of a second successive Scudetto seems set to end in failure, Inter have already lifted one trophy this season, and they will be keen to now add to their Supercoppa success by dashing the hopes of their old foes from Turin. Inter will, however, go into the game exuding a lot of confidence since they are unbeaten against their rivals this season having drawn in the first leg of the Serie A and going on to beat them early this year. Inter's fear over Juve has definitely subsided and they are just 90 minutes away from lifting the Coppa Italia cup after 11 years in the wilderness.
