Romelu Lukaku arrived in Milan today as he is preparing to complete a comeback with the previous Serie A champions. Chelsea broke their transfer record last season when they purchased the Belgian forward from Inter Milan for a record £97.5million. He was unable to capture the form that Chelsea had envisioned of him as his return season was characterized by injuries that derailed his adoption to the team. He further struggled to suitably fit to Thomas Tuchel's tactical setup. German attacker, Kai Havertz became the ultimate first choice for Thomas Tuchel in the respective attacking position that they share.
Lukaku does not also enjoy a cordial relationship with Chelsea fanatics and to some extent the club largely as a result of the controversial interview he had with Sky Sports in December, during which he revealed frustration at his first few months back at Stamford Bridge and professed his love for Inter. Rumors of a potential return to the San Siro Stadium have not been looked away ever since until when the Blues confirmed that they were giving him out to Inter Milan on loan.
Today morning, the Belgian star has been filmed leaving Milan airport and posing for photographs in an Inter scarf before leaving in a scarf and he was seemingly looking very happy and contented. Inter Milan are now expected to pay €8m (£6.9m) if they are to have the striker on loan.
