Antonio Rudiger's Chelsea contract is set to expire at the end of the season and he has been highly linked with a move out of the club.

Antonio Rudiger is a man on the radar of many European teams. Top on the least are Newcastle who are ready to lay down a marker in the transfer market by bringing him to Tyneside this summer. The Chelsea defender has established himself as one of Europe's quality centre-backs as he is set to bid farewell to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer when this season comes to an end. The German international has failed to reach an agreement with the West London giants and will soon be out of contract and various top clubs have shown interest.

Spanish giants Real Madrid had been considered his most likely destination for some time now but it now seems that they are in to face a stiff competition from the wealthy Magpies. Rudiger is a player who will prefer to play in the Champions League but the wealthy Newcastle given its recent Saudi ownership might try to lure him to their camp with a lucrative offer.

The Magpies have recently quashed relegation fears as they are unbeaten in eight Premier League games winning five of their last six outings. Ralf Rangnick enjoys a strong relation with Rudiger's agent making the Reds an interested party in the player and are keenly keeping a close eye on him. However, there is still a possibility he will extend his stay at Stamford Bridge if the two parties come to an agreement. The only matter here is that there is an ongoing uncertainty over Roman Abramovich's sale of the club and out of contract players might opt to leave the club. Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are the other two Chelsea players who could leave the club for free at the end of the season and they have both being strongly linked with a Barcelona move.
