Manchester City are on course to help deny a potential quadruple for their arch-rivals, Liverpool. City are now three points clear at the top with only three games left to be played. City boss, Pep Guardiola has now bemoaned that everybody in the United Kingdom now supports the Reds to win the title over his Manchester City side. Though the Reds are now three points behind following a 1-1 draw with top-four chasing Tottenham, they are still locked in a thrilling contest for the EPL title.
City are not taking anything to chance as they delivered a 5-0 hammering to Newcastle to capitalize on the two points missed out by their rivals following Liverpool's draw. As things stand now, the EPL crown is for Manchester City to lose as the battle for the title is largely in their hands right now. City are more than motivated to lift another Premier League trophy following their UEFA Champions League exit after Real Madrid mounted a comeback on them. Contrary to what many had expected at the end of the first leg of the UCL semis, the final will not be an all English affair as the Los Blancos are more than ready to challenge Liverpool into lifting their 14th European title.
Guardiola also feels like going by the fact that they were eliminated from the UCL, his side is now being willed to fail even in the EPL race at the expense of their rivals by the larger UK population. He even further claims that even the media which is supposed to be neutral is also in support of Liverpool to lift the trophy. He, however, went ahead to be sarcastic about the Reds by saying; “Of course, Liverpool has an incredible history in Europe. Not in the Premier League - they've won one in 30 years.” City will now travel to Wolves, a team which is known to be stubborn when it meets with the top dogs of England. If they are successful at the Molineux stadium, then thew will only be remaining with two games to seal a successive defence to their EPL crown.
