Fresh from lifting their third successive Premier League title, champions Manchester City travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the penultimate game of the top-flight campaign.

While Man City were celebrating their Premier League coronation, there was also a party atmosphere at the Amex Stadium on Sunday after Brighton secured European football for the first time in their history courtesy of a 3-1 win over basement club Southampton. Fresh from lifting their third successive Premier League title, champions Manchester City travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the penultimate game of the top-flight campaign. In the rematch seven months ago, the Citizens defeated the Seagulls 3-1 at home thanks to goals from Erling Braut Haaland (2) and Kevin De Bruyne.

The Seagulls will test their mettle today against another side known for their aesthetic philosophy, who have won 10 of the last 11 Premier League meetings between the two sides since the South-coast club secured promotion in 2017. On the final day, they will travel to Aston Villa, who are three points further back in seventh place. Although Brighton & Hove Albion are now assured of a top-seven finish, De Zerbi has urged his team to earn just one point from their final two games to secure sixth place and qualify for the Europa League the following season.

Pep Guardiola the Manchester city Boss on the other hand will be considering recalling a number of first-team regulars to his starting lineup for tonight's Wednesday Premier League clash against Brighton. Guardiola made nine changes to the lineup from the team that defeated Chelsea 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday after winning the Premier League title on Saturday following Arsenal's defeat to Nottingham Forest, with just Kyle Walker and Manuel Akanji keeping their defensive positions.

Man City head to the Amex stadium enjoying a good run having scored 33 goals in 11 top-flight meetings against Brighton and have never failed to make the net ripple during this streak, while they have also won each of their last 25 Premier League matches played on a Wednesday by an aggregate score of 68-11; the longest winning run by any team on a specific day in the division's history. Few would have predicted that Brighton would contend for a European spot this season, but they are there on merit after developing a compelling brand of football under De Zerbi, who Pep Guardiola has referred to as "one of the most influential managers in the last 20 years" and who, if reports are to be believed, has already caught the attention of a number of top clubs.
