It is a public secret that most Manchester United fans hate the Glazer brothers, the family that owns the club. Looking at the table for the last few years explains the reasons behind the fans' rage. The Glazers family are at it again, they do not tire to give the Red Devil fans more reasons to hate them even further. It has been revealed that the owners of the club have shared amongst themselves 11 million pounds from United's profit as dividends. The fans find this as far-fetched especially after the club posted its lowest point tally in the last 30 years. United were lucky to finish 6th and qualify for the UEFA Europa League alongside Arsenal who lost the top four battle to their north London rivals Tottenham. The term ‘luck’ is used because United were to finish at position 7 and compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League were it not for West Ham United who lost on the last day of the Premier League campaign to Brighton.
The Premier League struggle is not the only problem that United have to deal with as they are also in debt running up to 591 million and most fans feel like some of it would have been addressed instead of the owners sharing out the profit. The club is also struggling to be stable as it has had two coaches in this past season and the third has just taken over the reins at the helm. United has now had five permanent managers with two interim coaches and one caretaker manager in between. Some of its finest players have got their contracts expiring and the likes of Paul Pogba have already shown disinterest in contract extension negotiations. The famous stadium often called ‘Theatre of Dreams’ is leaking during rainy days yet the ownership of the club has failed to address the renovations.
The Glazer family managed to be successful in their ownership of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they became champions in the American football league (NFL). They, however, have not been nearly as successful in England especially in the era following the exit of the famous Sir Alex Ferguson from the helm of the club. The fans have been protesting for some time now but that does not seem to bother the ownership of the club.
