sokapro-Inter Milan vs Juventus: Who will advance to the finals tonight?

Inter Milan host Juventus at the San Siro for the second leg of the Coppa Italia fixture with the two teams currently held at a stalemate as they played out 1-1 in the first leg fixture at the Allianz Stadium.

Fierce foes Inter Milan and Juventus reconvene at the San Siro to decide who will reach the Coppa Italia final. Juventus have seen their controversial Serie A 15 points deduction overturned much to their excitement while Inter have made it to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals where they will face it out with their arch-rivals AC Milan. In the opening leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, Inter fell behind to a classic Juventus counter strike at the Allianz Stadium before they got back into the game in the final minutes of the fixture that saw an ugly conclusion to a much-anticipated tie as their was some push and pull amongst players from both divides after the final blow of the referees whistle. Inter were almost literally handed the chance to equalize from the spot during the dying moments, when Juve's Bremer - who turned down Inter last summer, in favour of a move across Turin - clumsily conceded a penalty. Out-of-form striker Romelu Lukaku then stepped up and duly found the bottom corner.

Both Lukaku and Juan Cuadrado as well as Inter Milan's captain Samir Handanovic were all dismissed in the aftermath though the Belgian's second booking for celebrating in front of fans who had been racially abusing him was overturned by the FIGC (Italian Football Federation) just a few days ago. Much bad blood is expected to linger ahead of the return fixture tonight. Inter's path to securing the Champions League via a top-four finish has been complicated by a re-emergence of Juventus as contenders in combination with their own fallible form. Inzaghi's job is under threat and he surely will have to salvage some silverware either in the form of the UEFA Champions League or the Coppa Italia in order to survive at the apex of an industry where results are the driving force.

Victory might have slipped Juventus in the first leg but three weeks prior to the first leg fixture, they had secured a Serie A double over Inter at San Siro. As Inter were their conquerors in last season's Coppa Italia, Juventus will take much delight in knocking them out this time around to set up an appearance in next month's final where either Fiorentina or Cremonese will lie in wait. It is worth noting that Inter Milan have lifted Coppa Italia eight times before. The overturning of Juventus' points deduction propelled them from the seventh up to the third position of the Italian league table and they are just from sealing a UEFA Europa League semi-final fixture.

Juventus may be uncertain of claiming a top-four finish this season after recording a third straight league loss for the first time since May 2011. However, they remain to be trophy contenders in both Europe and Coppa Italia and Juventus boss Allegri boasts of a track record of getting the job finished. Tonight's match is already promising to be a thrilling and epic affair as two very good sides try to outsmart each other with the aim of reaching the final of the Coppa Italia.
