It has been agreed that Alba, 34, would leave Barca this summer after 11 years in the first squad despite his contract with the club expiring in 2024,Sunday's fixture against Mallorca at Spotify Camp Nou will therefore be his final home match for the Blaugrana and a chance to say goodbye to his supporters. The Spanish full-back, who joined from Valencia in 2012, has made more than 300 appearances for the club winning six La Liga championships, five Copa del Reys, the Champions League in 2014–15, and the Club World Cup in 2015, he is one of the most accomplished players of his generation.
The following weekend, Barca will play their final game of the season away at Celta Vigo and having already claimed the LaLiga championship , this will be Alba's final game for the team. After confirming earlier this month that he would not be renewing his contract, which expires in June, club captain Sergio Busquets will also bid farewell to Barca fans on Sunday. Although Alba has not yet made a decision regarding his future step, he has previously been linked to a move to Saudi Arabia, alongside his teammate Sergio Busquets. Barcelona had this to say in regards to Alba's departure: “FC Barcelona would like to publicly express its gratitude to Alba for his professionalism, commitment and dedication, and his ever-positive and friendly relationship with all members of the Barça family, and wishes him every fortune in the future. Barça will always be a home for you, Jordi.”
Alba has been more of a peripheral figure at Barcelona this season under Xavi, making only 13 starts for the club in all competitions however, Alba has decided it's time to look for a fresh challenge outside of his boyhood club after losing his spot to Alejandro Balde this season at left-back. He joins fellow Barca legends Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets in leaving the club this season. Football fans wait to see what will be his next career move. Might he decide to hang the boots and call it quits?
