According to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, Manchester City's reportedly imminent capture of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland will "set new levels." Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have been the dominant managers in the EPL as their teams Liverpool and Manchester City have been the superior teams in the league ever since the 2018-19 season when City won the league with a one-point difference. Both City and Liverpool have won the league each in the previous two seasons. Their rivalry is again playing out this season as they are both chasing the EPL title again with just three games remaining.
City have been without a recognized striker ever since Sergio Aguero left the club for Barcelona but they now look set to bolster their ranks following the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. Haaland has provided 21 goals this season in 23 Bundesliga appearances making him to have 1 goal per 86.9 minutes of the game. The Norway international is set to be unveiled by City before the end of the season. Jurgen Klopp now says that the signing of the Norway international has set a new level of competition in the Premier League.
Since Haaland arrived in Germany from RB Salzburg at the start of 2020, only Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski (122) and Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe (89) have scored more than his 85 goals in all competitions, among players in Europe's top five leagues. The Liverpool boss, however, has now said that he will not
