Manchester City are expecting a bid from Chelsea for Raheem Sterling with boss Thomas Tuchel looking to boost the attacking line.

As Romelu Lukaku is set to move back to Inter Milan on loan, Chelsea are now looking for more firepower at their frontline and Raheem Sterling who is entering his final year of the Manchester City contract seems to be one of their answers to the attacking problem. Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has already engaged the England international over how he will fit in at the Stamford Bridge. The Premier League champions who are grateful for the England international services are said that they are okay with their player wanting to fulfill his desire for greater playing time and status elsewhere. Pep Guardiola has stated that he is willing to let Sterling go since he is ‘unhappy’ at City given the condition that an acceptable bid in the region of £50m is tabled by Chelsea.

Tuchel is desperate to cure Chelsea's goal-scoring issues and Sterling is one of the highly classified targets. It is reported that Chelsea are now preparing a bid to offer to the EPL rivals for the forward. Sterling would offer the German a guaranteed threat - he has directly contributed a combined 165 goals in the division in 320 appearances for Liverpool and City - as well as tactical flexibility and experience. The England international believes that he is in the decisive phase of his career and wants to make contributions both on and off the pitch. The fact that Tuchel contacted Sterling and spelled out his vision to him speaks volumes of how serious the club is in its pursuit for the player.

Manchester City has already sold Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal and now talks are centered on making the Sterling negotiations with Chelsea successful. The fact that the club can cede two very good player to its Premier League ‘big six’ rivals without trepidation is a sign of their solid recruitment and the gap that exists between the clubs. They themselves have already signed Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund and Julian Alvarez from Argentina club River Plate
