sokapro-UEFA Europa League: Betis vs Manchester United

Manchester United will be hoping to finish the job at the Benito Villamarin when they face Spanish side Betis after firmly putting one leg in the quarters with a 4-1 win during the first leg fixture.

Real Betis welcome Manchester United to Benito Villamarin Stadium needing nothing short of a miracle if they are to progress to the UEFA Europa League quarter finals having suffered a 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford during the first leg. An openning goal froam Marcus Rashford was followed by an equalizer from Ayoze Perez before Betis went down for a treat from Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst. Defeat at the Theatre of Dreams was sandwiched in between a pair of La Liga stalemates with Real Madrid and Villarreal. Betis are yet to progress from the last 16 of the competition in the current format and they are currently fifth in the La Liga table.

Betis can, however, aim to follow in the footsteps if Valencia who during the 2013-14 campaign lost 3-0 to Basel in the first leg before winning 5-0 in the return fixture. No other team to date has recovered from a three-goal deficit to progress from a knockout tie in Europe's secondary competition. Manchester United fans have experienced the true meaning of a tumultuous period after going through a world of emotions within a space of a week. They enter tonight's game coming from a goalless draw against Southampton in the Premier League. They had to settle on playing with 10 men as Casemiro cut an incosolable figure after he was sent off in the first half for a dangerous tackle on Carlos Alcaraz.

Erik Ten Hag can surely consider any hope of knocking on the door of the top two in the Premier League table surely gone. However, tonight's game is theirs to lose as United enjoy a 3 goals lead heading into the match in addition of the fact that Manchester United never been eliminated from the last 16 of the Europa League when winning the first leg. United will, however, be weary of the fact that they have only won two of their last six away games, something that surely does not go down well with Erik Ten Haag. The English giants can take confidence in the fact that they have not been beaten in their last four trips to Spain.
