The alleged charges that had been pressed on United forward Mason Greenwood have been dropped and he is now free to get back to footballing duites.

England and Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been cleared of all the assault charges leveled up against him, the English Football Association (FA) announced. He will now join the Premier League club on their preseason tour and match against their arch-rivals, Liverpool. Greenwood was accused of allegedly sexually assaulting and abusing his ex-girlfriend, Harriet Robson. Harriet brought to light the crime in a series of Instagram stories. She attached gruesome images of her wounds as proof and even went on to include a series of audiotapes, with Greenwood allegedly forcing himself on the young woman. Manchester United took the action of suspending Greenwood from their squad since then.

Greenwood has been out of play ever since January as investigations on his alleged deeds were ongoing. He had, however, been cleared out on bail but still remained on the police radar. The series of disturbing images earlier released by his ex-girlfriend clearly indicated a case of domestic abuse, while an audio clip seemingly implicated Greenwood in abusive and threatening behavior. The young Manchester United forward can now breathe a sigh of relief after he has had his charges dropped.

He will now join United on the preseason tour as they are set to face Liverpool on July 12th at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok before they proceed to Melbourne Cricket Ground on July 15th to square it out with Melbourne Victory. They will still pitch camp at the same grounds as they await to face off with Crystal Palace on the 19th of July.  Manchester United will then head to Optus Stadium in Perth for a match with Aston Villa on July 23rd before they wrap up their tour in Oslo at the Ullevaal Stadium where they will face LaLiga powerhouse Atletico Madrid on July 30th.
