The Arsenal boss has extended his contract that will put him in charge at the London club up to 2025.

Arsenal are now back into Premier League top four contention and the man credited with the effort is Mikel Arteta. He has now signed a new contract with the Gunners agreeing to terms with the club until the end of the 2024-25 season. He took over the management of the club from current Villarreal boss Unai Emery at the end of 2019. Arsenal are now staring at going back into the UEFA Champions League having been there last during the 2016-2017 campaign. Arsenal announced a double managerial deal on Friday morning, with women's boss Jonas Eidevall also agreeing a new contract.

The gamble that Arsenal took with giving a newcomer the job at the helm of the club seems to have paid out as Arteta has largely impressed in the dugouts at Emirates Stadium. His first achievement was guiding the club to win the FA Cup at the end of the 2019-20 season as they beat Chelsea in the final to clinch the crown. Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League with four games to play and are two points ahead of their main rivals Tottenham. Arteta has also revamped the playing squad and culture at Arsenal allowing senior players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil to leave while promoting young talents in the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe amongst others, into leading roles. The Arsenal management seem to be confident of a brighter future ahead for their club under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta.
