Borussia Dortmund are expecting their star player Erling Haaland to move to Manchester City in the next transfer window. It will be a big money move that will make him the highest paid player in the Premier League. Borussia Dortmund's prized asset had been linked in a two horse race between Spanish power house, Real Madrid and EPL title holders, Manchester City but it now seems like the latter outdid the former for the youngster's signature. The Norwegian man is breaking records at an alarming rate and just at 21 years old, he is already one of the best players at the international scene. In the Bundesliga Haaland competes with the likes of Robert Lewandowski while at the international stage, himself and Kylian Mbappe are seen to be the heirs to fill the throne of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. It is speculated that the Haaland-Mbappe rivalry will be one of the most intense in the fight for the Ballons d’Or, Golden Boots and other collective and individual awards.
It is now reported that the Dortmund player will be earning in excess of $652K per week at Manchester City. He will become the highest paid footballer in the Premier League overtaking the likes of Kevin De Bruyne. His move to City will come as a disappointment to most of Europe's top elites amongst them; Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Real Madrid who have in the recent past hoped to net him in their squads. Dortmund signed Haaland for just 20million Euros from RB Salzburg back in 2019. He now has a 63million Euros release clause in his contract which is nowhere near his worth and Dortmund will be looking to cash in on him although they are reportedly desperate to keep him at the Signal Iduna Park.
