The top two teams in the Bundesliga will take on each other today at the Allianz Arena as Bayern Munich face off with Borussia Dortmund.  Bayern is top of the table with 72 points while Borussia Dortmund is a distant third with 63 points. Their last meeting at Signal Iduna Park ended 3-2 in favor of Bayern. If the hosts win, then they will clinch a 10th successive Bundesliga title. A comfortable 3-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld put Bayern on the brink of yet another title if they are to go passed Dortmund today.

Bayern comes into the match having suffered a shocking Champion League exit in recent weeks after being toppled out of the competition by Villarreal who had also earlier knocked out Juventus. The last time BVB defeated Bayern was three years ago and they always seem to have the ability to turn up on the days that they play against their arch-rivals. Dortmund has not tasted victory at the Allianz Arena for the past 5 years and will be looking to turn this around. They are on a 7-game losing streak against the Bavarians with some of the losses being to the tune of 6-0 and 5-0 defeats. BVB will be looking to stop the rot when they make the trip to the Allianz Arena.

BVB will be relying on their goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland to counter any moves that Bayern's Robert Lewandowski might make. Dortmund could stand a chance of frustrating their hosts if they can up their defense and plug the holes. Should they achieve an unlikely victory, then they even stand a chance to lift the Bundesliga title themselves as they will extend the title race.
