The final will be between Morroco's side Wydad Casablanca and Egyptian team Al Ahly Cairo.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly are on the verge of bagging a third consecutive CAF Champions League Final if they win the game against Morocco's Wydad Casablanca on Monday evening. The Egyptian giants have a record of ten titles to their name and have won the last two editions. Their current manager Pitso Mosimane has a record of three CAF Champions League titles to his name having won one with Mamelodi Sundowns. Wydad who have two titles to their names are the team that is standing between the Egyptian giants and their eleventh title.

Wydad won the title last in 2017 and coincidentally, they beat Al Ahly 2-1 on aggregate to bag the prize. The final is being played in Morocco and Wydad would be hoping that their home advantage counts as they will be receiving massive support from their fans. Al Ahly made an effort to have the final moved from Morocco but their efforts proved futile as CAF rebuffed them. The South African tactician is now looking to bag another title to his name and he has said that it is an honor making it to the third final in a row and wants his side to see off Wydad. This is what the tactitian had to say; “It’s an honor, a privilege and its historical for our club to make a third cup final in a row because we have never made it. Even though we had made a lot of cup finals but we had never made it three times in a row. As much as it is important for the history of the club, we are not really fixated in that, we are fixated in the match. Because what is the point of making the third final in a row and you don’t win it? Our mind is not on that, our mind is on winning the cup final. Of course, we acknowledge that we have made the third cup final in a row and it’s a big step because no team does that."

On the other hand, Wydad manager has termed the Egyptian side as the favorite to win the cup but has said that his team will pile pressure on them and use the home advantage. This is what he had to say about the upcoming match; “If they win, they will be heroes who won the title in Casablanca, but if they lose it will be out of their hands as they played the final in Morocco. Al Ahly are favorites to win the title, they are more experienced and they have history on their side. If we win, we will be very happy, especially since we didn’t make any transfers. We will fight for the title, we will do everything we can to win,”
