The Premier League fixtures are out and it is set to kick off on 5th August. Manchester City will open their title defense against West Ham and Liverpool will be the first Premier League side to play against a newly promoted team as they square it out with Fulham. There are plenty of a number of exciting matches in store on the opening weekend. Arsenal will kick off things away at Crystal Palace in one of the prominent fixtures while Everton will play host to Chelsea.
One interesting detail about the fixtures is that the Manchester derby between Manchester City and Manchester United and the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham will take place on the same day and on both occasions. The derbies will happen on October 1st at the Etihad Stadium and Emirates Stadium, and on January 14th at Old Trafford and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. These two weekends are being looked forward to by football lovers. The Merseyside derby will take place on September 3rd when Liverpool travels to Goodison Park to face Everton as they host them at Anfield on a return fixture on February 11th.
Chelsea will welcome Tottenham to Stamford Bridge on August 13th while they will host Liverpool on September 17th. The reigning champions Manchester City will host Spurs on September 10th. Modern Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City will lock horns at Anfield on October 15th before they meet at Etihad for the return fixture on 1st April. They will take a break from November 12th as the attention shifts to the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup and will resume again on boxing day.
