It is quite obvious that Kylian Mbappe is not happy at PSG and that his club of choice right now is Real Madrid, it is also clear that money is not such a motivating factor to the young ambitious player going by his move to reject Al-Hilal's huge financial offer. Lastly, it is also quite evident that Mbappe is hungry for trophies, titles, and personal achievements such as the Ballon d'Or which is fair to say that he has not achieved much of the aforementioned due to his stay at the Parisian giants despite his superstar status. The deadline has passed for Mbappe to activate the option to extend his contract meaning he will definitely become a free agent next summer and PSG can not risk letting go of their most valued asset for free and will therefore be looking to sell him to the highest bidder. So, which clubs best suit Mbappe's ambitions? In this article, we delve into the clubs that have already shown interest in having the player in their ranks and which ones he can best land in. While it is his dream to play for Real Madrid, the French capital giants are yet to make a formal bid for the player. The clubs that have shown interest in his signature are; Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona.
Liverpool
According to multiple sources, the Reds have made a move to try and sign the French talisman on loan from PSG. They have opened negotiations with the Ligue 1 champions but given the fact that PSG are not willing to lose their star man for free come June next year, they might not be so much keen on the idea of Mbappe joining Jurgen Klopp's men on loan. It is worth noting that Mbappe's mother who is also his agent is a huge fan of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Chelsea
The Blues are trying to negotiate a player-plus-cash deal in their efforts to bring the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner to Stamford Bridge according to the reports. Sources further indicate that Chelsea have also been put on red alert regarding a move for Mbappe during this transfer period after the forward refused an option to extend his contract by a further year. The reports further claimed that the PSG have been encouraged by the talks with the West Londoners as they have spoken directly to Chelsea owner Todd Boehly over a potential transfer as the new manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to have a striker with the attacking prowess as that of Mbappe in his ranks next season. If Mbappe is to move to Chelsea, he will be reunited with his former boss Mauricio Pochettino who is also reportedly a great fan of his aside from being Lionel Messi's top fan.
Arsenal
Even though the Gunners are playing lowkey in matters of trying to sign the talisman, reports indicate that behind the scenes they are hatching a plan for a possible move of the French superstar to the Emirates Stadium. Reports indicate that the Gunners are eyeing a move for the striker. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was asked about Paris Saint Germain's decision to leave Mbappe out of their pre-season tour but the manager stayed tight-lipped as expected only saying; “You know I never talk about players that don't play for our club. I'm sorry.” Sources, however, indicate that the 24-year-old is admired by the North London outfit who are looking to challenge for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League in the near future after a successful run last season that saw them almost clinch the EPL title.
Barcelona
The Catalonia giants are said to be preparing a bid for Kylian Mbappe following the move by their arch-rivals Real Madrid to sign Jude Bellingham and reports indicate that the hierarchy at the La Liga champions can not risk their competitors having both Mbappe and Bellingham in the same team. It is reported that the Catalan giants are in talks with PSG and are willing to put in the highest bid in order to secure the services of the French talisman. Mbappe is an open supporter of Real Madrid, however, and it is highly likely that he will sign for their rivals. He has repeated it times without a number that the Los Blancos are his childhood team.
Real Madrid Decision
The most likely destination for Mbappe, however, is the Los Blancos but it is reported, however, that an imminent move to the Spanish capital is not something currently on the cards. Reports indicate that Madrid are not keen to make a move for Mbappe during this transfer period as they know that they still hold the advantage as they remain to be the club of his choice.
Mbappe Rejects Al-Hilal
The Saudi Pro League club had made an offer to have Mbappe in their squad but the player flatly refused to take it. It is understandable, however, as a young player of his stature has an ambition to conquer Europe which arguably has some of the best and most competitive football leagues in the world. A move to Saudi Arabia would have seen him earn £ 50 million per month and PSG get a paycheque of about £ 300 million.
PSG's Huge Cost
The Parisian club are reportedly looking for something in the region of £ 160 million transfer fee in order to let their star leave for another club. Mbappe is understood to earn around £ 2 million a week in the French capital and would demand a signing bonus too. PSG have also, however, stepped up their attempt to make their star player stay at the Parc de Princess by trying to convince him to accept a luxurious 10-year contract worth over £ 864 million. Last time out, he had to be convinced by French President Emmanuel Macron in order to ditch a move to Real Madrid. It is yet to be seen what it will take to make the French superstar remain loyal to the club this time around and if not, which team will have the honours of signing him? This is a wait-and-see game.
