Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hit out at the Premier League match fixturing ahead of a busy period for the Gunners as they play their catch-up games. Arsenal suffered a set-back in their top four race finish yesterday as they went down 0-2 against Liverpool who are in a title challenge. The Gunners are now fourth on the table with 27 games played earning 51 points while their closest top four challengers Manchester United are fifth with 50 points having played 29 matches.
Speaking on the Liverpool loss, Arteta mentioned that both sides had been clinical in their attacks having nine shots each but the Reds edged them out in possession which went 52% to 48%. He further added that Arsenal failed to convert their opportunities into goals as Liverpool capitalised on their chances with goals from Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota. The Arsenal boss is not happy with how their games have been scheduled as they will face Aston Villa on Saturday thus complaining that his squad will not have adequate time to recuperate. He further bashed the EPL for doing it again when they have to face Chelsea and Manchester United giving advantage to their opponents.
