The mandate of the transitional committee will run for five weeks starting from 11th May.

Following the lapsing of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Care Taker Committee period, the Cabinet Secretary in charge of the Ministry of sports, culture, and heritage Ambassador Amina Mohamed has appointed an FKF Transitional Committee which has been tasked with running football matters for the next five weeks. A 12-member team was appointed in a gazette notice issued on Friday 13th May 2022. The team will be assisted by a further 6-member team secretariat in the execution of their mandate. 

Retired Judge Aaron Ringera who was the chairman of the Care Taker Committee has maintained his position as Chairperson even in the Transitional Committee. Maurice Oyugi also retained the Vice-Chairperson seat. Mwangi Muthee, Anthony Isayi, Ali Amour, Bobby Ogolla, Michael Muchemi, Rachael Kamweru, J.J Masiga (Dr), Neddy, Atieno, Hassan Haji, and Caesar Handa complete the 12-member committee. The head of Secretariat will be Lindah Ogutu and the secretary is Lorine Nerea. Edward Rombo is a joint secretary while Maxwell Wasike, Rashid Shedu, and Robin Toskin. 

The mandate of the Transition Committee shall be to:

(a) conduct the affairs of Football Kenya Federation in accordance with the Constitution of Football Kenya Federation;

(b) ensure that Football Kenya Federation operates within the provisions of the Sports Act, 2013;

(c) co-ordinate and ensure the smooth running of Football Kenya Federation operations, including team preparations for local and international sporting events; and

(d) co-ordinate and facilitate the validation of the draft Constitution of Football Kenya Federation.
