The Norwegian international is making a move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League and he is expected to blend in with the EPL style of play as fas as he can adjust.

Manchester City might have been crowned the Premier League champions but they have not been playing with a recognized striker for two seasons now ever since Kun Aguero left the club for Barcelona. Pep Guardiola has now solved that problem by signing one of the most sought-after players on the planet right now, Erling Haaland. The arrival from the striker from Borussia Dortmund further strengthens Pep Guardiola's side. One of the challenges, however, that Haaland may encounter at Manchester City is that his style of play might not necessarily be an obvious fit. The Norwegian thrived at Dortmund using his pace and physicality to get in behind defenses or hit them on the counter. That will not be the case at Man City as teams often set up blocks against them and have to be played through.

City had 68.5% possession in the 2021-22 season, the most of any team in Europe's top five leagues. Haaland’s link-up play will have to improve if he is to fit into this Guardiola side that thrives on possessive football. Guardiola, however, has arguably not always brought the best out of physical strikers. It is known that Robert Lewandowski had his worst goal-scoring season at Bayern Munich under Guardiola and also Zlatan Ibrahimovic struggled at Barcelona under him. Another concern of Haaland's goal-scoring hopes is his injury history. According to Transfermarkt, he has had 13 separate issues across his time at Byrne, Molde, RB Salzburg, and Dortmund.  The heavy workload and explosive style of play may cause issues during his first season at the club.

One thing that Haaland will quickly and easily blend in at City is the squad's high goal-scoring ability. The 21-year-old has enjoyed his goal-scoring prowess through out his career and it is expected that he will continue to thrive even at City. However, Ousmane Dembele, Jadon Sancho and many more have shown that it can be hard to adapt to life outside the Bundesliga. But in a team as good in creating chances as City, Haaland should thrive and is also expected to be a contestant in the Premier League golden boot. As seen with other super stars including Lionel Messi, Haaland also may take some time to adjust to a new league and he might fail to be at his best in the first season although he is expected to be a force to reckon with in the EPL in the coming years.
