The Premier League champions Manchester City will face off their LaLiga counterparts Atletico Madrid in an Epic UEFA Champions League clash.

LaLiga Champions Atletico Madrid edged out Premier League giants Manchester United to reach the quarter finals to play against EPL champions Manchester City who thrashed Sporting Lisbon an aggregate of 5-0 in the round 16. The Champions League has not been Pep Guardiola's bread and butter during his tenure at the Etihad Stadium and it seems like this time round, he is facing stiff competition even in the EPL where Liverpool are threatening to snatch that title should City do even the slightest mistake. Before City face off in an epic EPL showdown with Jurgen Klopp's men on 10th April, they have an uphill task to go passed Diego Simione's side tonight.

Pep Guardiola will be going into tonight's game being very tactical well knowing that he is meeting the side that axed their local arch rivals out of the competition when all odds seemed not to be in their favour. Man City are under pressure to stay in the course of the tournament until they at least lift their first UCL trophy which a lot of fans are optimistic this might be their season. Diego Simeone has attracted both praises and criticism in his style of play with some describing it as a ‘streetwise style of play’ but Atletico are masters of the dark art and will try every trick in the book to unsettle Man City.

Atletico Madrid are currently 3rd on the LaLiga table sharing same points with Catalonia giants,  Barcelona the latter only beating them with goal difference although they have a game in hand. It is worth noting that Diego Simeone's side have not made it passed the quarter finals of the UCL ever since the 2016-2017 season. Tonight's meeting will mark the first ever competitive competition between Atletico and Man City. Guardiola and Simeone have locked horns as managers thrice with the latter getting the better out of the meetings. Football lovers around the world are lookijng forward to see which side will outsmart the other in today's meeting. The question that begs to be asked tonight is, will it be the English champions or the Spanish champions?
