Manchester City will be looking to focus on lifting the Premier League trophy after the heartache that they experienced in the midweek following their elimination from the UEFA Champions League competition by LaLiga champions Real Madrid. They went into the game with a one-goal advantage and two minutes to the blow of the whistle they were ahead of their opponents with two goals but things took a turn just in two minutes of additional time before an extra-time penalty kick forced them out of the competition. This was the worst ever setback City have ever suffered under the management of Pep Guardiola. The elimination pain can only be compared to their Champions League defeat to Chelsea last year. 

City are now set to face Newcastle this weekend and it is speculated that they will bounce back to winning ways. Luckily for Manchester City, the football world moves on quickly and a win against Newcastle will even make their semi-final setback be forgotten even faster as the focus will now shift on them being closer to achieving another back-to-back Premier League title. It is a tough blow to bounce back from such a defeat but Pep Guardiola is known to pull surprises and his side will do just that and showcase the elite mindset that they possess as a brilliant team.
