The Red Devils are in the transfer market trying to reinforce their squad as the new manager prepares himself for his first season in charge of the club.

Manchester United were reportedly interested in new-club record Liverpool signing Darwin Nunez. He is said to have been a priority in their transfer targets but now their eyes are set elsewhere after losing out on the Uruguay international after their arch-rivals beat them on this. United are now interested in Ajax duo, Anthony and Jurrien Timber according to multiple reports. The Red Devils have a priority of finding a player who can fit across the forward line and the Brazilian winger Anthony is seen as one who can fit in the role well. Current United manager, Erik ten Hag is the former coach at Ajax and is familiar with both defender Timber and attacker Anthony

United are also looking at Villarreal's Pau Torres. They are aiming at strengthening their back line and the center-back is seen as one who will bring reinforcement and control to the club's defense. Manchester United are also after Barcelona playmaker Frenkie de Jong but it is reported that the two clubs are in dispute over the fees that should be paid for the Netherlands international to make a move to Old Trafford. The Red Devils fear that the Catalan giants are overpricing the player in order to solve their financial woos with one sale. Barcelona are demanding €100 million while United are willing to pay €60 million in addition to add-ons.

The Red Devil's main priority still remains to be the arrival of an all-purpose midfielder and they still have other names on their transfer shortlist. Eriksen has also been rumored to be in talks with the club. United have let go of plenty of players amongst them; Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Matic, and the future of a few members of the squad such as Rashford are still in doubt. They missed out on the UEFA Champions League spots as they finished sixth in the league behind Arsenal and will now be playing in the UEFA Europa League
