sokapro-Liverpool vs Manchester United: Who will win?

The Reds meet the Red Devils in what will be an epic and thrilling match at Anfield as the former aim to enter into European positions while the latter is dreaming of a Premier League title.

Old foes Liverpool and Manchester United will renew their rivalry on Sunday in a vociferous Anfield atmosphere as the two clash for their second leg of the Premier League campaign. The collision will have major implications on the respective Premier League title and top four faces. They both enter the showdown on a high with the Reds seeing off Wolves 2-0 in the top flight while Erik Ten Hag's side mounted a comeback to beat West Ham 3-1 in the FA Cup competition.

Liverpool started this season's EPL campaign on a low but are slowly but surely creeping back up the ranks and are threatening to upset the top-four apple cart. They are currently sixth in the league and are just six points adrift fourth placed Tottenham albeit with one match in hand. Even if the EPL power seems to have faded this season, one strength they have maintained is their excellent form at Anfield losing just one of their last 35 top flight games on home soil. Additionally, they have taken 13 points in front of their supporters out of the available 15 and have kept clean sheets in their most recent 3 games at the stadium.  Jurgen Klopp's side are also unbeaten in their last seven contests at Anfield played against ‘Big Six’ sides. They have, however, suffered defeat to Real Madrid in their first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 competitions.

Seeking to emulate Liverpool's Carabao cup and FA Cup success last season, Manchester United are now chasing on the second one after they safely secured the first in their trophy cabinets. Not since going passed Leicester 3-0 have the Red Devils played in the Premier League again but their third position is still intact as they are four points ahead of fourth placed Tottenham with a game in hand but are lagging behind 11 points from league leaders Arsenal. Each of United's last four games in four different tournaments has ended in victory and are now in chase of a quadruple as they are also still in the UEFA Europa League competitions.

Instability on the road is still bedevilling the Red Devils who have conceded more EPL goals (20) than they have scored (17) away from home this season. They have also failed to beat 'Big Six' side in a Premier League game on the road in their last seven attempts. Manchester United emerged victorious 2-1 over the Reds back in August during their first half campaign of the season. It is worth noting, however, that not since the earliest days of Klopp's reign in January 2016 have United left Anfield with all three points in the bag. Therefore, Sunday's match is already promising to be an entertaining one as two teams who seat in the cream of European football face off in what will be a duel that will determine the trajectory of some crucial aspects in the Premier League.
