Two London clubs will face off at the Wembley Stadium with each side aiming to meet Liverpool in the final of the FA Cup competition. Chelsea will take on Crystal Palace for a spot in the last two of the competition. Thomas Tuchel's men come into the game still aching from a UEFA Champions League heartache after they were knocked out of the tournament by Real Madrid. The Blues came close to becoming the first English side ever to win on the Madrid turf by at least two goals, before the Los Blancos forced extra time where Karim Benzema's goal sent Chelsea parking out of the UCL. The defense of the European crown might be over but they have all to play for in tomorrow's Emirates FA Cup semi-finals as they aim at having a title to their name this season. They reached the Carabao Cup final match but a dramatic penalty shoot-out saw Liverpool clinch the cup. The Blues will therefore be bidding to reach the FA Cup final for the third season running. They were forced to collect the runners-up medal on the past two occasions.
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira knows a thing or two about victory in the prestigious cup competition as his final spot-kick propelled Arsenal to the crown at the expense of Manchester United in May 2005. He is now seeking a maiden honour to his name as a manager. Crystal Palace have recently got the eye in the past few weeks with strong and stellar performances and defending EPL champions, Manchester City and top-four finish contenders, Arsenal well know their eagle power. Just like their opponents, they have got all to play for as they are the only team left in the competition who do not have an FA Cup crown in their cabinets. They went down to Manchester United in the 1990 final and again fell to the Red Devil's superiority in 2016. Before their loss to Leicester, the Glaizers were on a seven games unbeaten run with four of them being successive clean sheets against stiff competition.
Chelsea were given a hard time in their 1-0 win in February at Selhurst Park though that represented their ninth win in on the bounce in this fixture. Coming from a Champions League heartache, the Blues will be in no mood to be the victims of the next FA Cup shock although Crystal Palace will not give them an easy time at Wembley Stadium.
