The second leg tie of the World Cup qualifying match will be replayed on orders of FIFA.

World football governing body FIFA has ordered a replay of a playoff match between Senegal and Egypt. This comes as a result of a successful appeal lodged by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) saying that its team was subjected to racism and intimidation as it was preparing to play their second leg of the World Cup play offs in Senegal on Tuesday.

Egyptian players, especially Mohammed Salah, the team captain were targeted by offensive lasers while they were on the pitch. In addition to that, they further complained that their bus was attacked which resulted to windows being broken and some individuals being injured. The EFA had also submitted a complaint to Confederation of African Football.

Egypt had failed to qualify for the Qatar world cup after they lost on penalties to Senegal 3-1 on penalties that saw Mohammed Salah miss a penalty after offensive green light burners appeared on his face while his Liverpool counterpart Sadio Mane scored the winning penalty for Senegal. The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has however not spoken on the FIFA decision yet. The Lions of Teranga and the Pharaohs will now have to square it out ones more again making it their fourth meeting this year.
