Rising tennis star, Angela Okutoyi has set a target to advance past the semis of the French Open which is set to take place between May 22nd and June 5th. She recently broke the ceiling at the Australian Open when she became the first Kenyan female to win a grand slam juniors match. Okutoyi will now be aiming to make history at the French Open as well as at Wimbledon. Angela has been using continental tournaments in Morocco and Egypt to prepare for the upcoming world events.
Okutoyi, amongst others, is being sponsored by the International Tennis Federation to attend a camp to train with a grand slam team in Italy for two weeks which will be followed by exposure to two events that have a stature similar to a Grand Slam to set the mood ahead of the French Open. She will then move to a one-week camp at Wimbledon to familiarize herself with the grass-court ahead of the tournament in the United Kingdom. Francis Rogoi, her coach has exuded confidence that Okutoyi will put her best foot forward to achieve greater milestones in the upcoming tournaments.
Karen County Club and Rentworks are the two companies that are supporting Angela's journey towards greatness and Tennis Kenya head of marketing, Rose Meghas has called in for more companies to join in the support. Later in September, Angela Okutoyi will play in the United States Open.
