Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the football calendar was distorted and all the ongoing sporting activities were put to a halt. Ever since February 12th, there has not been any match played on Ukrainian football pitches with the Leagues amongst them the top tier league being suspended on February 24th.
A video meeting between the Ukrainian Premier League members today has been held to decide the fate of the top flight's 2021-22 season and the verdict has been given. The table standings as of February 24th, 2022 have been ruled to be the final standings although there will be no winners to be awarded meaning no title will be given. Shakhtar Donetsk had held a two-point lead over defending champions Dynamo Kyiv and thus they finish first and second respectively.
