sokapro-AC Milan or Inter Milan: Who will be celebrating on Sunday?

Two arch rivals both from the City of Milan are held up in the Serie A title race. Who will bolt out and who will sail through?

Sunday is a much-awaited day in Italy's city of Milan as the residents will get to know which of their two favorite clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan will be crowned the Serie A champions. Inter broke the Juventus dominance by winning the title last season and now their arch-rivals are about to get their hands on the cup but it will all go down to the last day. It has been 11 years since AC Milan won their last Serie A title and now only as much as a draw against Sassuolo separates them from ending their ten years spell without a title. The club last won the title under Massimiliano Allegri in 2010-11 and Sunday has been a long day waiting for Milan fans who have in the recent seasons rose to grace.

AC Milan had spent an incredible four years outside the top four finish between 2014 and 2020 before they secured a second-place finish behind leaders Inter Milan that secured them a UCL spot. Last season's title race was decided much earlier as they was 12 points gap between the two teams. This year's race is, however, much different as there is only a 2 points gap between the two rivals ahead of the last match of the season. Should Milan slip up against mid-table Sassuolo on Sunday, champions Inter know victory at home to Sampdoria will see them sneak over the line, led by a manager who has sprung a final-day surprise before.

The final day drama also culminates to a battle to avoid relegation as Salernitana are held up with Cagliari in a battle to avoid relegation. Salernitana were at the bottom of the table but they have recently gone seven unbeaten and a win over Udinese will see them survive in the league. Cagliari face an already relegated Venezia. Elsewhere, Juventus who are assured of the position 4 travel to face Fiorentina. AS Roma can make sure that they qualify for the UEFA Europa League with victory over Torino.
