Two top of the table teams will square it out in a UCL semifinal. Who will make the other bow out of the competition?

LaLiga top of the table, Real Madrid will be facing their Premier League counterparts, Manchester City in what will be an epic clash as the two teams meet in the first leg of this season's UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Pep Guardiola's men knocked out Diego Simeone's side, Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals while Real Madrid ended hoChelsea's https://www.chelseafc.com/enpe for a back-to-back UCL title. Simeone lost his cool during the second leg of their fixture against City as his team struggled to break down a steadfast City backline with their defensive techniques in the first leg coming to bite them hard. A barren draw at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium was enough to make the Premier League giants progress to the semis having won 1-0 back in the first tie at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola is more desperate than ever to bring the first UCL trophy to the Etihad Stadium, especially after being knocked out of the FA Cup competition by their arch-rivals, Liverpool. City are undefeated at the UCL at home ever since the 2-1 loss they suffered at the hands of Lyon back in 2018.  After Real Madrid overturned Paris Saint Germain's 1-0 goal advantage in the round of 16, the tables nearly turned on them in the quarters as an attacking Chelsea came down hard on them in a second leg tie that was forced to go into extra time to find a winner. Karim Benzema ones again had to be the saviour as his header sunk the Blues to book the Los Blancos ticket to the final four of the tournament.

A fourteenth European crown is in sight as Real Madrid goes into the game and Carlo Ancelotti's side have evolved to become away goal specialists. The meeting on Tuesday night at the Etihad Stadium will mark the seventh meeting between two familiar foes with the Los Blancos boasting of a pair of 2-1 wins in the 2019-20 UCL last 16 but City had earlier won 1-0 over two legs in the 2015-16 campaigns before Guardiola was appointed the boss.
