Plans for the next football season are gathering pace at the Old Trafford as they are now drawing close to reaching to an agreement with Ajax boss Erik ten Hag. The Dutch boss is the preferred candidate to take over the reigns of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on permanent basis. He appears to have edged out Paris Saint Germain's boss Mauricio Pochettino in the United boardroom. He is however, attracting divided opinions in the United dressing room with majority of them reportedly being in favour of a Pochettino coaching.
It is understood that the Eredivisie side expect Ten Hag to make a touch down in the Premier League next season. The former central defender started his managerial career with Go Ahead Eagles in 2012 and he has also been in charge of Utrecht and Bayern Munich2. He was appointed as Ajax head coach back in 2017 and he has delivered two Dutch cups as well as two league titles and is currently four points clear of second placed PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie table.
The Red Devils are currently battling for a top four spot in the Premier League and are currently sitting at position 7 which is 3 points behind the UCL spots. Beyond their search for Ole Gunnar's successor, United have another eye in the next transfer window with a few key players such as Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Edison Cavani being in their final months of their conrtract and a possible Cristiano Ronaldo exit should they fail to make it to the UEFA Champions League next season.
