French man Zinedine Zidane is set to take over from Argentine tutor, Mauricio Pochetino to become the coach of French capital giants Paris Saint Germain. The offer that the Ligue 1 champions have made to Zidane is very tempting and it is very likely that the French tactician will take the deal. The offer that he has on the table will make him the best-paid coach in the world if he puts pen on paper. He is set to earn 25 million Euros net a year which is higher than Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone who gets 24 million Euros and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola who gets 23 million. PSG has Qatari ownership and it is reported that the process of replacing Pochetino and wooing Zidane is being managed by the Emir of Qatar himself.
Zidane has turned down the French giants several times and is thinking of becoming the France national football team coach after the completion of the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup slated to take place from Monday, 21st November to Sunday, 18th December. However, one thing that football fanatics have learned with PSG from how they handled Mbappe's transfer saga is that they do not give up in the pursuit of what they want to achieve. It is not expected to be any different from the Zidane case and that is why someone can be bold enough to say that Zinedine Zidane is the next coach of the French capital-based club. Should Zidane accept the PSG role, he is likely to work with Luis Campos who is replacing Leonardo Araujo as the club's sporting director.
Paris Saint Germain have only held one meeting so far with Zidane where nothing tangible was agreed and both parties have decided to meet again in the coming days. The tactician is now enjoying some time with his family in Ibiza as he goes through and reflects on PSG's proposal and decides whether to accept it or keep waiting on the France national team appointment. Zidane is regarded as one of the most decorated Real Madrid managers in the club's history as he won 3 UEFA Champions Leagues, 2 UEFA Super Cups, 2 LaLiga titles, and 2 Spanish Super Cups. His stellar performance at the UCL is one of the reasons PSG are fighting hard to have him as their manager since the French powerhouse is desperate for European continental glory which will only be achieved by winning the Champions League title.
