China will be looking for their first points of the tournament at Hindmarsh Stadium after losing to Denmark in the opening fixture while Haiti, who themselves lost to England in their first match of the tournament, will come more prepared to acquire all the points in the pitch. China have made it to the knockout stages in all their past six World Cup finals but they recently received a setback in their opening game in their ambition to maintain that 100% record. In, fact, they looked set to pick up a point in their game against Denmark as it appeared to end in a 0-0 stalemate but a 90th-minute strike by Amalie Vangsgaard meant that their fate was a loss.
A win over Haiti will mean that China continues with a run of claiming at least one victory in each of their last World Cup appearances. However, they will also be concerned by the fact that they have won only one game in their last six matches at the tournament. China go into today's contest as the favourites as they are ranked 14th in the CocaCola FIFA Rankings, a position that is 39 places above their rivals. On the other hand, Haiti must be proud of the stellar performance that they produced against England in their first-ever game at a World Cup.
Although Haiti were narrowly defeated with a 1-0 scoreline, they did not appear daunted by the prospect of facing the reigning European champions England. Despite creating a number of chances, Haiti were unable to find the back of the net ensuring that they faced their fifth defeat in a row. Haiti know very well that they will have to improve defensively if they are to get a positive result against China as they have a poor record currently, having conceded in each of their last eight international fixtures.
