Neymar is now considering leaving Paris Saint Germain after finding out the club are willing and happy to let him go. Contact has now been made with Chelsea whose new owner Todd Boehly is looking forward to making a big statement in the transfer market during this transfer window. Thiago Silva, who is Neymar's Brazil teammate has hinted at the possibility of the superstar joining him at the Stamford Bridge. However, it remains to be seen if Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea will be willing to sign the 30-year-old who is reportedly said to be having trouble keeping discipline while off the pitch, the kind of trouble that no coach wants to have from a player who can be perceived to yield a lot of influence on the rest of the squad. Neymar's agent, Pini Zahavi, is working to identify other potential suitors but is aware only two or three teams would be able to come close to the money that Neymar earns at PSG. 

At PSG, Neymar earns a gross salary of €43 million and not many elite clubs in the world can afford to keep up with such kind of a paycheque. The Brazilian star signed a contract extension with PSG 12 months ago that is supposed to see him stay at the club until the year 2027. The French capital club are looking to change their culture from star players to team ethics and they are open to selling Neymar as the first casualty of the policy change. Kylian Mbappe, however, remains to be at the heart of PSG's project following the effort that the club made to make the French player avoid a transfer to Spanish capital giants Real Madrid. Lionel Messi is also expected to get back to his stardom ways on the pitch having now settled in at the French club. PSG are hoping he reinvents the spark that he used to enjoy at Barcelona even though he is approaching his sunset years in the football profession. 

Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona for a world-record fee of €222m in August 2017. He still holds the record as the world's most expensive player. He has won the Ligue1 four times while at Paris but PSG have failed to win the UEFA Champions League which is the most coveted trophy in club competition. The closest they have ever come to winning the European title was when they finished as runners-up to Bayern Munich in the 2020 UCL final. We wait to see if Chelsea will accept to sign Neymar to their squad and the move that the Brazilian will make just incase the Chelsea deal flops now that he is unwanted in Paris.
