The France striker rejected a move to the Spanish capital giants Real Madrid and opted to sign again with the French capital giants Paris Saint Germain. However, in an interview with BBC Sport, Kylian Mbappe did not rule out a move to the Los Blancos later in his career. Spain's LaLiga reacted angrily to the news that Mbappe will be staying at Ligue 1 calling it scandalous. Mbappe who is regarded as one of the best players in the world has now said that he called Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to personally inform him of his decision to stay at PSG before he could renew his contract. In his words; "It was last week I made the decision to stay, "First of all I spoke to the president of Real Madrid because I have a lot of respect for him and the club. I think it was important to say it personally that I wasn't going to go. To be a great player [you have] to be honest and everything was great and good because we have a good relationship."
Speculations about the French's forward future gathered pace towards the end of the season although the PSG player said that he never let that distract him from executing his duty on the pitch. He scored 28 goals in Ligue 1 to help PSG reclaim the title from Lille who had been crowned the champions last season. Mbappe now says that he is looking forward to playing important games for his club and country. He further added that he used to enjoy watching games at the stadium when he was young and now it is his time to make sure that people get pleasure from watching him play. The French superstar added that he knows that a lot of young look up to him in admiration and he is focused on being a role model to them not only in matters pertaining to football but to show them that they have to enjoy and stay focused on real things in life.
Mbappe started his career at Monaco before moving to PSG first on loan before he made his move to the club permanent. While at Monaco he was able to reach up to the UEFA Champions League Semifinals stage and he has been able to reach the final with PSG but lost to Bayern Munich now he says that he and the team are now focused on delivering the continental glory to Paris. He has, however, won 4 Ligue 1 titles and 3 French cups with the club. The French forward added that he has got respect for other leagues in Europe and demanded that the French Ligue 1 also deserved to be respected.
