Napoli enter tonight's contest on the back of a 2-2 Italian League draw against Genoa while Braga suffered a 3-1 defeat in the hands of Farense in the Primeira Liga last time out. Sporting Braga finished in third position in the Portuguese League last season which saw them secure a position in the third qualifying round for the 2023-24 Champions League. They are now in their first UCL fixture since the year 2012. Apart from Napoli, they will also face Union Berlin and Real Madrid in Group C and they will be determined to have a perfect start for their group stage fixtures when they face off with the Italian powerhouse tonight.

Braga are currently in eighth place in the Portuguese League collecting only seven points from five matches played so far. They were last in the group stages of the Champions League during the 2010-11 season where they finished third and dropped to the Europa League where they actually made it to the final of the competition where they lost to fellow Portuguese giants FC Porto. Napoli meanwhile enter the competition having collected seven points from four matches played in the Serie A. They won their third Serie A title last season for the first time since the year 1990. They are also in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League for the second season running after making it to the quarter-finals last time out.
