sokapro-The Bundesliga battle royal!

This weekend's centre stage game in the Bundesliga will happen on Saturday when heavyweights RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich face off in what will be a thrilling match at the Red Bull Arena.

Both RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich advanced to the second round of the DFB-Pokal in midweek and will be returning to league action with only a solitary point between them in the standings. Leipzig claimed a hard-fought win over second-tier Wehen when they beat them 3-2 to progress to the next round of the DFB-Pokal Cup. Leipzig, however, need to thank the services of Benjamin Sesko who has netted five goals so far in his seven appearances for the German club. The Reds Bull club now head into Saturday's showdown on a six-game winning streak across all competitions with four of them being consecutive Bundesliga victories. A UEFA Champions League win against Young Boys preceded Wednesday's cup triumph.

Leipzig started their Bundesliga season on a high note following a 3-0 win over Bundesliga title holders Bayern Munich in the DFL-Supercup. They then kicked off the season with a loss to Bayer Leverkusen but quickly returned to winning ways with a 5-1 trumping of Stuttgart before seeing off Union Berlin, Augsburg, and Borussia Monchengladbach. Leipzig have now netted 14 goals in five league games this season while conceding only four goals in the process.

Bayern Munich cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Preussen Munster in midweek in a game that saw the German powerhouse record 26 shots with 72% possession. After kicking off their UEFA Champions League campaign on a high with a win over Premier League giants Manchester United, the Bavarians hammered VfL Bochum 7-0 this past weekend in a game that saw England captain Harry Kane net his first hat-trick for the club. The Englishman now has eight goals in his seven appearances for the club this season. Bayern Munich have so far taken 13 points from a possible 15 in the Bundesliga so far in their opening five games and have been dominating both in the Champions League and DFB-Pokal. It is worth noting, however, that, Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Hoffenheim, and Borussia Dortmund remain within two points of Bayern currently. Bayern will be confident to defend their crown having won 11 of the past Bundesliga titles.
